MUSIC REVIEWS

by Ace Diamond

OK, so when my Buddy B.C. asked me to be the music review writer here at Toxic Shock TV, I had some reservations. That was of course until he spoke those magical words that are sweet music to my ears, "Write whatever the fuck you want, anything goes!!!".  So the format I plan to use here is as follows, in the words of Bruce Dickenson, the singer of Iron Maiden, at the Rock in Rio 3 a few years ago: "Something old, Something new and Something from our Jurassic period........" If you don't like it,  fuck you and the horse you rode in on.

So here goes my two bits into the motherfucking pit!!!!

SOMETHING OLD:

SLAYER
REIGN IN BLOOD
METAL BLADE
1986

Well, I had to do this album because it wails, and because it is a new month, and I love to do at least one thrash metal album a month, so I tend to start every month with my heaviest album so as to re-affirm my loyalty and devotion to the satanic and hellish heavy metal cause.

O.K. so it's no big secret that I'm a Hessian, nor that I think Slayer kicks serious ass.  On with the show...........

This metal massacre opens up the hostilities with "Angel Of Death", a song that is absolutely gloriously in its' brutality. Then is  "Piece By Piece" which is just the perfect song to follow with, as it really kicks in the urge to get into the motherfucking pit and beat somebody's piddley ass.

"Alter Of Sacrifice" is a song I really enjoy due to the immensely blasphemous lyrics. Good call Tom. To make things more damning, "Jesus Saves", wherein the band pokes fun at the whole notion of an organized religion that is wrought with hypo Christianity and sick mother fuckers.

Anyway, side two of this metal massacre on vinyl opens up with "Criminally Insane", a brutal song that starts with a brooding drum intro and then proceeds to scalp your sorry ass!  "Reborn" is a nice rip on the mere notion of reincarnation. "Epidemic" explains exactly that organized religion is all a smoldering ass heaping fucking pile of bullshit set ablaze. "Postmortem" re-affirms that nobody resurrects from the dead. "Reigning Blood" end this album with as much furious hostility as it began.

SOMETHING NEW:

ALICE COOPER
BRUTAL PLANET
SPITFIRE
2000

Alice Cooper is the fuckin' man. Here is one sick mother fucker, and the founding father of shock rock. On this here CD, Alice still proves why he is still  the king of shock rock, he invented it, and remember, 99.9% of the time, the original is better than the sequel.  This case is no exception, as Alice is still better at  the genre of music he founded than all those that have and still try to follow in his wake.

Anyways, this beast open up with the title track, "Brutal Planet".........man it just fuckin' kills.  The next song is an anthem for any of my readers from The Aryan Nation, "Wicked Young Man", perfect song to mosh, zieg heil, goose step, drink, get high, fight and fuck, and talk all kinds of shit to

After that is a song called "Sanctuary", and no, it has nothing to do with a certain Iron Maiden song from 1980. It sounds more like  "The Ballad Of Dwight Fry, Part II-Release From The Asylum"  "Blow me a kiss" is a song which basically tells society to quit your little pity party,  and fuck off until you can grown some fucking balls and inherit a brain and  some damn common sense. Next we hear "Eat Some More" in which Alice laments the sad fact that we Americans are the most obese nation on earth. We are such terribly severe gluttons. "Pick Up The Bones" is song about those who manage to survive a thermo-nuclear holocaust and the fallout of nuclear winter going and finding what is left of  their families. Very fucking cool.

This is a rather long cd from Alice, and it would take me several paragraphs to tell you about all the songs, so I won't bore you like that, so what I will do is insist you go buy, download, or steal this album and don't get caught like a dumbass, or else you gonna be Big Bubba's Bitch. Anyway, put this cd in, turn your radios on, put your headphones on, and turn this motherfucker up to maximum volume and blow yer goddamned eardrums out!!!
LET THE MUSIC DO THE TALKING

SOMETHING FROM OUR JURASSIC PERIOD:

DICK DALE

Yes folks, Mr. Dick Dale, who is still living and touring, is the father of surfer rock guitar music along with the likes of The Ventures...has turned entire generations of Southern California youths into surf loving hippie beach bums. Yes my friends this is where all of the So Cal fun in the sand and sun has all begun. It was in the late 1950's,and in those days there was surely a whole lotta shakin' goin' on, yessireebob. Right on,daddy-o!
