While Frank Miller’s “300” is getting high-acclaims and record breaking box office sales, Nasser Karimi from Associated Press says that the hit film “has angered Iranians who say the Greeks-vs-Persians action flick insults their ancient culture and provokes animosity against Iran.”

Mr. Gholamhossein Elham an Iranian Government spokesperson has branded “300” as an insult against Iran serving the policy of U.S. leadership. “Not only would no nation or government accept this, but it would also consider it as hostile behavior which is the result of cultural and psychological warfare,” says Mr. Elham.

“300” continues to tear its way through the box office, with a whopping $70M weekend. The film by Director Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead) stars Gerard Butler (Reign of Fire, Tomb Raider), Lena Headey (Vivaldi, The Brøken) and Dominic West (Hannibal Rising).
