Variety reports today that Fox and the Franklin Mint have created the first ever commemorative movie quarter, that will be put into a limited (40,000 coin) circulation throughout the country. The quarter (shown below) has George Washington on one side and The Silver Surfer, played by actor Doug Jones on the other. Each state will receive up to 800 of these coins, people who find the coin will be able to take part in the “Search For Silver campaign”. One lucky winner will win a trip for four to the World Premiere of “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” in London.
“Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” starring Doug Jones, Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis is in theaters everywhere June 15, 2007.
