i’m sure there are different versions throughout the movie. he probably went from crazy to gq crazy like what should happen with the joker.

I really hope Heath does a good job. I know what we’re all thinking, there’s no way he can top Jack Nicholson’s performace but if they make the character from a different angle, maybe Heath can reinvent the masterpeice.

I don’t think that this poster is real. I found a picture on the web of Conrad Veit who played the character that the joker was originally based on and the picture matches this insanely close. Look for yourself.

There is no way that this is Ledger in the poster above. I think the poster is a 5 minute photoshop job to add color and the text at the bottom. It took me about ten minutes to do it myself. Check it out and tell me what you guys think!!!!!!

I hope the image above isn’t faked, but I too have seen another version of the joker floating around the web. I hope to God they go with this darker look and not the ’smeared lipstick’ one (perfect way to describe it) because frankly, I think the lipstick look is total crap. To me, this one is MUCH creepier. I loved Jack Nicholson’s joker, but would love to see Ledger give us a more threatening/sinister version of this character on the screen.
If this *is* just a photoshop job someone did, I love it! Good job, whoever did it.

the image above is not real. it’s a fan creation of someone else as the joker. you can believe me if you want and or not but I can tell for sure that I am 100% correct that the above image is not related at all to The Dark Knight movie.

Man, thats a blatant photoshop job, a face has been stuck on for sure. In the outer corner of the eye on the left it just stops and shifts tone too sharply, even with strong makeup it would never look like that.

Yeah this isn’t Heath Ledger’s Joker, this is one of the first photos of a very early actor in a previous Batman flick… I believe his name is Conrad Veit… I think they must have used his picture instead because they didn’t cast Heath during that time or they were waiting on his answer… It looks amazing, I saw the full trailer before “I am Legend” and it was brilliant… I am Legend was good also…

thats not the joker in the new batman movie. that is conrad veidt from “the man who laughs”, a movie made back in the 1920’s with no sound. This is not heath ledger but it is the character they wish to base him off of.

That isnt the real poster, i work at the movies and there are only 2 versions of the poster and that isnt one of them!!!

the man who laughs is a victor hugo movie set in 16th or 17th century england. conrad veidt plays a man who’s noble father insults the king and is punished to death for it. conrad veidt is then mutilated because of his father, and he’s given a permanent, and creepy smile, as if he were laughing at his father for the rest of his life. he becomes homeless, finds an abandoned baby girl, and takes care of her. They later fall in love, but he’s given a chance to re-claim his fathers land and what not when the King dies, but would have to marry someone else, who is strangely attracted and repulsed by him. Anyways, he turns down his chance to be wealthy to stay with the girl. Then he drowns himself or whatever. And Conrad Veidts character in this movie is SUPPOSEDLY what they originally based the character of the joker for the comic books. But a few people take credit for it, and some say they used Veidt as an inspiration and some say they didn’t.

everyone take a look at the title please… it says it’s fan made, and it tells who was photoshopped for it. then google conrad veidt and find that he’s dead and has been since 1943…

I believe the caption says “a fan made poster” so it isn’t the real thing, eh? I mean, HELLO. Conrad is DEAD. Besides. Heath Ledger’s Joker does have the smeared lipstick. He might not be able to top Jack Nicholson’s because we’ve veiwed it for so long and some are not open-minded to new angles of the character. Plus, I think Ledger could portray a more plausible persona. I also think his costume is considerably more realistic.

I saw the Dark Knight last night (at a pre-pre-showing, don’t ask), and I can say that Heath Ledger did an astounding job. I literally walked out of the theatre amazed at his performance, and the movie as a whole. It was wonderful, and I didn’t hesitate to accept an offer to go see it again tonight. It’s easily one of my favorite movies at the moment, which is a very hard list to top. (:

Another thing - the joker was CREEPY. If you think the messy makeup makes him any less so, you’re sorely mistaken. It was so real, and very frightening.

ledger actually did make a better job than nicholson as the joker, in my point of view, he was just perfect, his performance made this movie a complete masterpiece, just awesome

Heath ledgers joker is by far one of the best characters ever! Topped Jack Nicholson and completley reinvented the joker! As said in The Dark Knight”You either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villan”. Heath died a hero! Rest in peace mate!

it’s definitely a compliment to his memory that the last film he did completely sealed his legacy as an actor. Bravo, Heath Ledger. I think he did a better job than anyone expected.

First off, it’s given away in teh description that this is a doctored image from “The Man Who Laughs” and secondly… Heath took Jack’s Joker and completly murdered him from memory. There is no way they can even dream of anyhting better…

Joker creators Bob Kane, Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson used Conrad Veidt as a visual inspiration for the character.

I just LOVE batman and the movies with only Christian Bale in them. Those are Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. He is an awesome superhero besides Superman!

The Dark Knight was amazing. Plain and Simple, amazing. i saw it twice in theaters and im going to buy it as soon as it comes out! Heath Ledger was amazing!
