Hollywood icon and action star Steven Seagal has a new reality series on the way which will follow him during his little-known role as a police officer in Louisiana.

Seagal has been a fully commissioned deputy at Louisiana’s Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for the last 20 years.

Aside from his duties as an everyday cop, Seagal also works with the force’s SWAT team by teaching officers how to properly use firearms and how to battle in hand-to-hand combat.

The new show, which will play on the A&E network, will be titled “Steven Seagal: Lawman”.

When asked about the show, Seagal said, “I believe it’s important to show the nation all the positive work being accomplished here in Louisiana – to see the passion and commitment that comes from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in this post-Katrina environment.”

Seagal is best known for his roles in film such as Under Siege, Exit Wounds, Half Past Dead, Above the Law and Hard to Kill. He is currently working on three films: Ruslan, Last Night and The Keeper.

Along with his film roles, he also writes, directs, choreographs martial arts and performs music for the big screen.

There is no date for the series’ premiere as of yet.
