Video game heavyweight Capcom and Sony Pictures teamed up to create Resident Evil: Degeneration, the first full-length animated feature based on the popular game series Resident Evil.

Unlike the live-action films starring Milla Jovovich, Degeneration takes place within the same universe as the video games, trailing the game’s two main characters Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield.

In the English version of the film, Paul Mercier voiced the part of Leon and Alyson Court voiced the part of Claire.

The film made its premiere in Japan on October 11th, 2008 at the Tokyo Game Show, following a limited U.S. release on November 13th in New York City and November 18th in Los Angeles.

Degeneration comes to DVD on December 30th, 2008 and will include special features including character profiles, bloopers, English and French subtitles, featurettes and a sneak preview of Resident Evil 5.
