Billboard is reporting the unlikely announcement that the upcoming “Tron” sequel, titled “TR2N”, will be scored by French electric-pop titans Daft Punk.

“TR2N” has a tentative 2011 release date set and will star Garrett Hedlund, Beau Garret, Olivia Wilde, and Jeff Bridges, who starred in the first film in 1982. Joseph Kosinski is directing.
