Bayona Not Directing Eclipse

According to a report from the LA Times, Summit’s production president Erik Feig shot down all reports of The Orphanage director Juan Antonio Bayona being set to direct the third Twilight movie, Eclipse. Feig says, “The Eclipse directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else. We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job.” Earlier in the week, several production trades published that Bayona had the job. Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who last directed “28 Weeks Later” in 2007, the sequel to the British horror hit, has been attached to help develop a remake of sorts of the classic “X: The Man With The X-Ray Eyes” with MGM.
