According to Variety, Summit Entertainment has cast British actor Jamie Campbell-Bower in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which began shooting last week in Vancouver, Canada.

Campbell-Bower, whose credits include Guy Ritchie’s RockNRolla and Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd, will portray a member of the Volturi, an Italian coven of vampires who are the villains in the series.

New Moon stars Kristen Stewart as Bella and Robert Pattinson as Edward, the roles they made famous in the series’ first film Twilight, with Chris Weitz directing.

The movie, based on the book sequel published in 2006, centers on Bella being drawn into the world of werewolves while being simultaneously threatened by the Volturi.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon
hits theaters on November 20th this year.

Twilight, which was based on the first novel in the series written by Stephenie Meyer, has grossed over $380 million worldwide and sold over 3 million DVDs in its first day of release.

  1. I’m not too pleased with this casting. He looks way too young to portray Caius. I think he’d be better suited to play Jane’s brother, Alec.

  2. Yes. Thank you Summit.
With Dakota Fanning being casted and the rumors over the Leah casting, I was getting very agitated that they’d start a streak with very well-known American actors. But here we go! A wonderful British actor that I’ve actually seen in something, hot himself, and not generally as well-known unless you’ve seen Sweeney Todd. Great job.
