“Jonah Hex” is a Western-themed comic book title created by John Albano and Tony DeZuniga for DC Comics in 1972. The right side of Hex’s face is horribly scarred, a ritual scarification from an Indian tribe and his most defining feature. An officer for Confederacy during the American Civil War, he fought at Gettysburg and is normally shown wearing a tattered Confederate States Army jacket and armed with his guns and a tomahawk.

The big-screen adaptation of “Jonah Hex”, starring Josh Brolin, Fox, and John Malkovich, hits theaters August 6th, 2010.
