Pamela Adlon (King of the Hill, The Drinky Crow Show) has been tapped to star opposite Adam Carolla (Drawn Together, Family Guy) on the CBS comedy pilot “Ace In The Hole.” “Ace” is described as a family comedy starring funnyman Carolla as a husband and father who works as a driving instructor. Adlon, who is a regular on Showtime’s “Californication” alongside David Duchovny, will play his caring wife, a nurse and mother of two. Director Gore Verbinski passed on making more Pirates of the Caribbean films for Disney in exchange for tackling the big-screen adaptation of “Bioshock,” the Take-Two Interactive video game. Now Variety is reporting that pre-production on “Bioshock” has ground to a halt due to monetary issues. Originally with a reported budget of $160 million, Verbinski and Universal are looking for less costly ways to film and until then, all progress on the film has halted, according to a report from Variety. David R. Ellis (“Snakes On A Plane”) has been tapped by Mark Ordesky to direct the 3-D “Humpy Dumpty,” Variety.com is reporting. The sci-fi horror project is about a half-human, half-alien creature who embarks on a bloodthirsty rampage after his alien mother is abused by two Southern rednecks. Ordesky, a former New Line exec, is producing through his recently launched shingle Amber Entertainment alongside Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones of the iDream Company and Darry Welch from Instinctive Film, from a script from Billy Majestic.
