Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s “Halloween”, “Halloween 2″)has joined the cast of “The Runaways” as guitarist Lita Ford, alongside Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning as Cheri Currie, and Michael Shannon as Kim Fowley.

The film is based on the story of the 1970’s rock/protopunk all-girl band, and is being helmed by director/writer Floria Sigismondi. Filming has already begun in Los Angeles.

Taylor-Compton will next appear reprising her role in the revamped “Halloween” franchise as Laurie Strode in the upcoming “Halloween 2″, which is set to hit theaters this summer, on August 28th.
