Peter Morgan Attached To Write New James Bond

Peter Morgan (“Frost/Nixon”) has been announced as joining the writing team of the next James Bond film, alongside James Bond veterans Robert Wade and Neal Purvis. Morgan wrote both the the play and screen versions of “Frost/Nixon,” as well as the award-winning films “The Last King of Scotland” and “The Queen.” He is also writing “The Special Relationship” for HBO and “Hereafter” for DreamWorks. Recent Quantum of Solace star Daniel Craig has already signed on to star in the next untitled Bond film. No other information has been released yet. Bekmabetov Confirms That Wanted 2 Is In Works

Superhero Hype is reporting that Timur Bekmabetov has confirmed that the tentatively-titled “Wanted 2″ is in the works, a follow-up to last summer’s adaptation of “Wanted”, the cult comic book by Mark Millar. Bekmabetov told “RIA Novosti”, a Russian news site, that “In July we will start preparation for the film. I think in the late autumn or winter shooting will be performed. Akira Live-Action Adaptation Officially Dead

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that the long-rumored and long-in production live action adaptation of “Akira”, the groundbreaking 1982 manga by Katsuhiro Otomo that was the basis of the 1988 anime movie of the same name, is officially dead in the water. The site broke the news last year of the live-action adaptation of the cyberpunk anime classic about biker gangs, government corruption, and psychic warfare, with Ruairi Robinson directing. However, Robinson has left the project and the whole thing is, according to the site, “dead as a doornail”.
