Here’s an international teaser poster for the upcoming film “The Last Airbender”, based on the hit Nickelodeon cartoon series “Avatar: The Last Airbender”. “The Last Airbender” by director M. Night Shyamalan (The Happening) stars Jackson Rathbone (The Twilight Saga: New Moon), Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire), Cliff Curtis (Push) and Seychelle Gabriel (The Spirit).

Synopsis: The film is set in a fantasy world where the four elements of earth, air, water, and fire can be controlled through martial arts called bending, and the ruthless flame-manipulating Fire Nation is waging war to control the other nations of the world. At the same time a young boy named Aang, the last surviving wind manipulator or Airbender and is also the Avatar, the physical incarnation of the world itself who possesses the ability to manipulate all four elements, is on a quest to stop the Firebenders and save the world, with his friends Katara, a water-manipulating Waterbender from the South Pole, and her brother Sokka. But the skilled and vicious Prince Zuko, the banished Prince of the Fire Nation, is on the trail of the Avatar, seeking to regain his lost honor by capturing him.

us true fans think that this is wrong.they messed up the whole plot and the movie sucks.the people
they choose to play: katara,soka,zuko,& aang dont even look alike.they also dont even have toff, auppa, or momo. did you following & upset fans like me,that there is another avatar movie, in 3-D,
and those cast members certinly dont look alike.that movie is for adults only, some people in the movie are half naked.that movie is so far off, they have robots!!! every true fan knows that in the eposods, all of the avatar stuff happend at the same time as the dionasours.and this movie isnt even on earth.and no mixed species, like the platupus-bear.the other movie dosnt either,SO THEY SUCK.DONT SEE “AVATAR” OR “THE LAST AIR BENDER” YES, THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT TITLES. NEITHER ONE HAS THE SAME CREATOR FROM THE EPOSODS.THEY SUCK,DONT SEE EITHER ONE OF THOSE MOVIES

why dont they just make another season then just a gay movie like anyone will go to the movie really were they thinking at all because why would u want to go to movie cause it wold just ruin your thought of the entire show god they should just make a fourth book!!!

umm..wow. first..learn to spell. second: the movie (it is just one movie for now) is based on the first book of the series: water. toph isnt in the first season. any “true fan” would know that. third: its a movie. therefore its going to be different from the show a bit, just like movies are usually different than books. and as for the half-naked people, well they have those in the cartoon too…
and how do you know if the movie sucks? its not out for another year…
i think that everyone needs to calm down and give it a chance. if you dont like it once its out…thats fine. you dont have to watch it.

“Avatar” is a James Cameron Film that has nothing to do with “avatar the last airbender” the cartoon show.

Kade is correct. The two movies are completely different and not related. James Cameron’s is based on another plant and race of beings. Check out the details on imdb.com to see for yourself. Also note that because of this confusion, M. Night’s movie now has a working title as just “The Last Airbender”.

I saw who is playing these guys. I can already tell this movie will suck. I love this show so much and they’re just gonna screw it up!!! The selected cast look nothing like the characters!! The guy playing Aang looks nothing like Aang. Why? Why do they have to do this?? Why can’t they just do an animated movie?? They’re going to ruin the series :(

wow. fist of all haidan is VERY stupid, second of all i think the kid who is playing Aang does kind of look like him. HELLO AANG IS A FRICKEN CARTOON CHARACTER. of coarse he wont look really like him. and the cast are bunch of very good and perfessional actors. even though zucko has a tan.

First of… It has been confirmed that Momo And Appa are going to be i nthe movie.. They will be computerized..
And Toph is not in it becuase its going to be a triligy,,, The first movie is book one… second movie is goign to be Book two… third movie is going to be book three.
And for all of you pople saying oh the Director is racist!. There is no Asians!… welll Remember the show is only Asain influenced… Like most of the characters dont look Asain…. Aang in the show.. indeed looks white.. And Katara and Sokka look like Hispanics.
But to tell you why they have these they dont have all asain character becuase NOT EVERYONE IN THE WORLD IS ASAIN. Its going to be like our divers world.. YOu get it?
Most people in the FIRE NATION are goign to be INDIAN
WATER TRIBE people are mostly going to be WHITE

this movie is going to be awful in so many ways its gonna be exactly the same asthe Dragon Ball Evolution movie exactly the same character and plot all fuck up. The character are all wrong zuko is that one guy from slum dog millionaire like wow they couldnt find any more of a pussy looking guy to play as the bad ass zuko. i say that Aang looks alright but for the rest they all suck. For people who watch the show and like this movie are crazy this movie is messed up by only the cast and thats not a good start. the show was in asian background hence everyone has to be asian or at least look like the fucking character. i love this show from the being to the end but i hate to see another bad movie base off a cartoon show. this movie will only good by the action and graphic but as an avatar movie it will be horrible.

First of all, I am a busy adult woman (24 yrs old) who accidentally caught an episode of the Avatar The Last Airbender and got hooked ever since. I saw the entire 3 series in a week’s time. What makes it one of the very best anime series, if not the top best, is the beginning, middle and ending are interesting, driven and uncomplicatted, and satisfying. There may have been a few off things that 12 year olds don’t necessarily need to worry about, but it kept it interesting and funny and just addictive! So Iearn that a movie will be coming out next year. Looked in on the characters, but the plot hasn’t really been released but I assume it will stay similar. The research I got had me deciding the cast alone makes the movie suck and complicated. I can see this movie will be one of the wannabe hit anime series turned movie that may catch the attention of those younger than ten, but it’s audience much older than that have already decided the movie is a disappointment. M.Night Shy guy usually has eye catching controversial movies and I’ve never said they were stupid or lacked soul, but this one will be the first to be judge just as that by me. Sorry to sound so critical when the movie and trailers and more of it hasn’t even come out, but Nickelodeon needs to start up Season 4 where Zoku looks for his mom and Toph goes home and Sokka and Katara settle back home and Aang tries to restore his temples. Maybe Katara and Toph can come along, but whatever makes Season 4 come back.

It’s still horrible. I still think they could of done better at casting! Honestly why does zuko look so ugly? I’m huge fan of the series and Zuko is my favorite character. When I found out the cast. It was just dissapointing. The effects look okay…as what you can see in the preview. (Dosn’t mean it’s going to be good graphics.) It’s just only going to attrach the younger crowd. Sorry for those die hard fans V.V

By what ive seen its gonna be horrible. Its just sad how people can mess up so much in something so good and simple. In my opinion they shouldve just made a film with computerized characters (the same as in the anime) or a fourth season.

First of all i’d like to say:
I agree with the people saying to wait for the movie to come out first and THEN criticize it.
However, unlike films which derive their character imagery from books, this film has an actual visual depiction of how its characters should look and has completely disregarded that.
Here is how I think the characters should have been cast (incl race) :
Water benders are TANNED for a reason, they spend their lives on the snow where it is very easy to burn under the reflection on the snows surface
Therefore I think that DEV PATEL should have been cast as SOKKA due to his darker skintone and dopey looking ears- perfect for the comedic character that is sokka
I also think the girl who is playing Katara looks like a six year old

This movie is as shit asbucket of shit. I mean, have you seen the characters. the only thing they got right acout aang was the ears. The company is so stupid that they put up pictures of Aang,Sakka,Katara and Zuko and then put their lame ass movie actors next to them for comparison. They got almost nothing right,the only thing they got right about ANYONE was Aang’ ears. Sakka and Katara look nothing alike.
Word to the wise, if you don’t want to ruin the series, DON’T WATCH THE FILM!
