The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that renowned comic book scribe Geoff Johns, who has worked on the critically-acclaimed “Green Lantern” titles for DC Comics as well as the recent “The Flash: Rebirth”, has been tapped to produce and co-write a “Flash” adaptation for the big screen. Warner Bros. hired Johns, as well as Grant Morrison and Marv Wolfman last fall to act as writers and consultants on several superhero projects, which has resulted in a treatment for a “Flash” adaptation that Johns write. Variety is reporting that Morgan Freeman is in talks to star in “Red”, the comic adaptation of the Vertigo/DC title from Summit Entertainment that will also star Bruce Willis. Erich Hoeber and Jon Hoeber are writing the script, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing. Gregory Noveck from DC will serve as executive producer. “Red” was written by Warren Ellis and illustrated by Cully Hamner, about a former black-ops CIA killer in retirement who finds that he has been marked for death and goes “red”, meaning on the hunt, to defend himself.
