All-Star Horror Producers Team Up For The Violent Kind

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Andy Gould, Malek Akkad, and Jeffrey Allard are teaming up for “The Violent Kind,” for New Line. The first two produced the “Halloween” revival for Dimension, and Allard was the executive producer of New Line’s two “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” films. Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores, also known professionally as the Butcher Brothers, wrote the script and are also directing. Matthew Michael Carnahan Tapped To Rewrite World War Z

Comingsoon.net is reporting that Paramount Pictures has brought Matthew Michael Carnahan in to adapt Max Brooks’ hit book “World War Z”, about a world war against an infestation of flesh craving zombies. Writer J. Michael Straczynski was initially tapped to penned a draft of the highly-anticipated film adaptation of Brooks’ book. Carnahan has also written on “The Kingdom”, “Lions for Lambs” and “State of Play”. Marc Forster is attached to direct “World War Z”. “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” the fourth installment of the adapted video game franchise “Resident Evil”, is gearing up to start shooting in Toronto September 28th 2009, according to Production Weekly and Comingsoon.net. A release date has also been set of September 17th, 2010, with Alice, portrayed by Milla Jovovich, back. Paul W.S. Anderson has penned the script, with no director announced yet. Milla Jovovich will reprise her lead role as Alice in this fourth installment of the “Resident Evil” series, which takes off where “Resident Evil: Afterlife” ended in Japan.
