Hugh Jackman Starring In Avon Man

20th Century Fox has acquired “Avon Man” from “Hitch” writer Kevin Bisch, which will be used as a comedic vehicle for Hugh Jackman. The story follows Jackman’s character, who after being laid off from an auto dealership, ends up having to become an Avon makeup salesman, who uses his looks and personality to make sales. He eventually ends up recruiting many of his former coworkers to save his financially-dying town by winning a regional contest. Jackman and his Seed Production partner John Palermo will be producing along with Gary Foster from Krasnoff Foster Entertainment. No other information on the project has been released so far. Director Tapped For Hack Slash Film

Fredrik Bond has been tapped to direct the long-awaited big-screen adaptation of the hit Devil’s Due Publishing comic “Hack/Slash” for Rogue Pictures. Bond, who is also attached to direct a remake of the hit Korean horror movie “The Host” at Universal and the upcoming “The Hunger” for Warner Bros, has previously worked in TV commercials and music videos. Justin Marks wrote the scipt. Working Title has confirmed that it is developing a third installment of the “Bridget Jones” series starring Renee Zellweger (My Own Love Song, Monsters vs Aliens) in the titular role. The thus far-untitled third “Bridget Jones” film is still in pre-production and will no start production and filming until 2010. The first two films, starring Zellweger, are based on the hit newspaper columns and books by writer Helen Fielding, and the third film is reportedly most likely going to be based on the column as well. Gary Ross Onboard To Rewrite Spider-Man 4

Gary Ross has been tapped to rewrite the in-development script for “Spider-Man 4″, which brings him back together with Tobey Maguire, who starred in the Ross-directed “Seabiscuit”. Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios are hoping to put the film into production early next year, which Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Drag Me To Hell) will once again direct, based on the characters by Stan Lee (Silver Surfer, Iron Man) and starring Kirsten Dunst (All Good Things) and Tobey Maguire (The Crusaders, Spider-Man 3).
