Joe Eszterhas (“Basic”, “Showgirls”, “Sliver”) is reportedly working on a new project, writing a script that is about The Virgin of Guadalupe, a vision who appeared to a Mexican peasant in the 16th century. The legend of this vision is widely credited as the instigation of the spread of Catholicism in Latin America.

Eszterhas is working on the script for Mpower Pictures, the print company run by Stephen McEveety, the producer behind Mel Gibson’s “The Passion Of The Christ”.
