IESB is reporting that Steven Spielberg is in talks to take on the long-rumored and much-anticipated HALO movie, based on the popular video game franchise about the futuristic super-soldier known as Master Chief as he aides humanity in a war against the invading forces of the Covenant, a theocratic alliance of various aliens intent on taking Earth.

Spielberg is, according to the report, blown away by Stuart Beattie’s script of the adaptation, titled “HALO: The Fall of Reach” and looking for a project for the upcoming independent studio under Dreamworks and Walt Disney Pictures.
