McFarlane’s Oz Possibly Coming To The Big Screen

According to Slashdot, the British paper The Sunday Express is saying that filming on “Twisted Land of Oz”, based on comic creator Todd McFarlane’s adult-oriented figurine series is slated to possibly begin in 2010. Slashdot is also reporting that Dakota Fanning (The Runaways) is “being tipped” to lead the project.

Not for children under 17. McFarlane Toys’ second Monsters series is based on the L. Frank Baum novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The classic characters in the book receive a bit of a ‘twist’ in this series, an artistic interpretation of what could have been in an alternate Wizard of Oz universe.
