Open Auditions for Singers and Dancers for Rocky Horror Picture Show at Halloween Horror Nights 2009

Universal’s Halloween Horror nights has announced an open casting call for dynamic singers and dancers at Universal Studios Hollywood as the theme park readies its new “Halloween Horror Nights” live stage performance, “Rocky Horror Picture Show: A Tribute.” Versatile performers are invited to step through the time warp again to audition for the principle roles: Dr. Frank N Furter, Janet Weiss, Brad Majors, Riff Raff, Magenta and Rocky. Dreamworks Gets Writer For Resurrection Remake

Screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin has been hired to write “Rainbow Bridge”, the DreamWorks adaptation of the Japanese cult hit “Resurrection.” Bruce Joel Rubin is also well know for such scripts as Ghost, Jocob’s Ladder and Deep Impact. Directed by Akihiko Shiota, the original 2003 film follows a town that is thrown into shock when various dead former residents come back to life, but instead of being stereotypical zombies and ghouls, simply go about their former lives. Writing Team Tapped For Shazam

Warner Bros. Pictures has attached reknowned comic book writer Geoff Johns, alongside Bill Birch, to write “Shazam!”, the big-screen adaptation of the DC Comics character Captain Marvel, the young boy who calls on the magic word “Shazam,” then name of the benevolent wizard who gives him his powers, to summon ancient magics and become the adult superhero known as Captain Marvel. Peter Segal (“Get Smart”) is on-board to direct and produce alongside Michael Ewing. Johns, who is also attached to write a “Flash” movie, will also consult on the project.
