In an interview with “Zombieland” co-writer Paul Wernick, Sci-Fi Wire inquired about the script for the “Spider-Man” spin-off “Venom” that Sony will be producing, which Wernick wrote alongside Rhett Reese. Wernick said; “We’ve written two drafts of Venom, and the studio has it, and they’re pushing forward in whatever ways they push forward, [...] We can’t really talk about that, unfortunately”. Variety.com is reporting that 20th Century Fox will be developing “The Deep Blue Goodbye”, an adaptation of the John D. MacDonald mystery series with Leonardo DiCaprio starring. Peter Chernin, DiCaprio, and Jennifer Davisson Killoran are all onboard as producers for the project, which is being written by Dana Stevens. DiCaprio will be playing Travis McGee, a beach bum and “salvage consultant” who lives on a house boat and recovers various types of property for clients, getting into a lot of trouble at the same time.
