“Wide Awake”, a horror-themed webcomic (www.wideawakeonline.com) has been optioned for a live-action film adaptation by Jarrod Feliciano and Mirjana Novkovic at Do-Over Productions., is one of the latest non-superhero comics to get optioned as a film. And the fact that it’s a webcomic that isn’t even finished makes it unique among the slew of Hollywood film options for comic book stories.

The comic, which is still ongoing, tells the story of a young woman who dreams of horrific monsters that are more than just figments of her imagination. Originally conceived as an idea for a video game and then a short comic story, it is created by Mirco Pierfederici, Brandon Jerwa, Eric Trautmann, and David Messina.
