Chuck The Movie Guy recently interviewed documentary director Michael Moor on the upcoming film “Capitalism: A Love Story” by infamous documentary filmmaker Michael Moore (Sicko, Fahrenheit 9/11). The film hits theaters on October 2, 2009. Film Synopsis: Michael Moore returns to controversial territory with this documentary examining the events that lead to the global financial crisis. Variety is reporting that Platinum Studios and producer Tony Krantz will be developing a live-action adaptation of the Platinum Studios graphic novel “Mal Chance.” Scott Murphy will be helming the adaptation. Krantz is best known for producing “24″ and “Mulholland Drive,” and will be working alongside Platinum Studios CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. The Greenberg Group’s Randy Greenberg and Ross Dinerstein of Flame Ventures are onboard as executive prouducers as well. “Mal Chance” tells the story of Lola, a member of an ancient clan of assassins. Sam Raimi Producing Refuge

Sam Raimi, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has signed on to produce the supernatural horror pic “Refuge”, based on a pitch from up-and-coming British director Corin Hardy. Jason Blum, Steven Schneider, and Nathan Kahane are all producing. “Refuge” is about a remote town that is terrorized by a mythological Yeti beast, the Bigfoot-like creature said to be native to the mountains of the Himalayas.
