According to a report by Variety.com, Ben Foster Jason Statham, and Donald Sutherland are set to star in the remake of “The Mechanic”.

The film is being directed by Simon West, with production beginning this month in New Orleans. Foster will play aspiring hit man Steve McKenna who apprentices under Jason Statham’s experienced assassin. Sutherland will play Statham’s handler, who also happens to be McKenna’s father.

No release date has been set yet for the film. The original came out in 1972 and starred Charles Bronson and Jan-Michael Vincent.
