Comingsoon.net is reporting that Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle, Mark Strong, Liam Cunningham, Pat Shortt, Fionnuala Flanagan, David Wilmot, Rory Keenan, and Katarina Cas have all been announced as starring in John Michael McDonagh’s “The Guard”, which has just started principal photography in the West of Ireland.

The film is about a small-town cop (Gleason) who begrudgingly teams up with a straight-laced FBI agent (Cheadle) in order to uncover an international cocaine-running ring that has set up shop in his town. Despite personality differences between the two, they must set that aside when the drug runners try to take them out of the picture.

No release date has been set.
