Variety.com is reporting that screenwriter Etan Cohen (”Tropic Thunder”, “Idiocracy”) has been tapped by Columbia Pictures to pen the script for the upcoming “Men in Black 3″ film.

There is no word yet about whether or not director Barry Sonnenfeld and stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones would return for the latest film about a secret agency composed of the mythical “Men In Black” who track and police extraterrestrial activity on Earth.

The studio is looking to start filming the third installment of the franchise in the spring of 2010.
