The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Framelight has obtained the rights to the cult comic book “Chi-Chian” and are planning a full-length feature film. A six-part comic series from Cuban-American musician Voltaire, the dark fairy tale-influenced “Chi-Chian” is set in a dystopian New York that is now under the control of Japan, and a seemingly normal young woman who inexplicably becomes a heroine that battles various threats such as the undead, robots, and samurai, in order to protect her loved ones. “Chi-Chian” has spawned a role-playing game as well as an online webseries for the SyFy Channel. According to Variety.com, the graphic novel “Ring Of Roses” has been picked up for a film adaptation by Spice Factory and Persistent Entertainment. “Ring Of Roses” was created by Das Petrou and drawn by John Watkiss, and was originally published by Image Comics in 2005.
