Rashida Jones is joining the cast of Columbia Pictures’ “The Social Network,” the story of the founding and rise of the worldwide social networking website Facebook.

Justin Timberlake and Jesse Eisenberg are on board “The Social Network” as founders Sean Parker and Mark Zuckerberg respectively, in the David Fincher-directed and Aaron Sorkin-penned project. The film is based on the 2009 novel by Ben Mezrich, “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding Of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal.”

“The Social Network” is currently filming in Los Angeles. The film has a release date of October 15th, 2010 set.
