Rene Russo has joined the cast of Marvel Entertainment’s “Thor” as the Asgardian queen goddess Frigga, wife of the Norse god Odin.
Kenneth Branagh is directing, with Mark Protosevich and Zack Stentz having written the script. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, and Nataline Portman, the movie is slated to hit theaters May 20th, 2011.
After reigniting an ancient war, Thor, the Norse god of thunder, is cast down to Earth from Asgard to learn humility and humanity, and takes the guise of the crippled Dr. Donald Blake. He must learn what it takes to be a true hero as a dark force descends on Earth.
