Paz Vega, Daniel Bruhl and Mia Maestro have all been cast to star in indie drama “Castro’s Daughter.”

Shooting expected to start in Puerto Rico in late spring. Bobby Moresco, (“Crash”) wrote the script alongside Nilo Cruz (“Anna In The Tropics”) and will be directing alongside Paul Haggis.

John Torres Martinez is packaging the project for WME, with Joe Lamy onboard as an executive prodcer. Noel Tristan is also a producer for the film, which is aiming to tell the tale of Fidel Castro’s exiled daughter Alina Fernandez, who is an author and vocal critic of the Cuban dictator who fled the country in 1993. In 1998 she wrote “Castro’s Daughter: An Exile’s Memoir of Cuba.”
