Eric Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart have welcomed their baby daughter into the world, the couple’s publicist Nancy Ryder confirmed to the Associated Press on March 4 via e-mail. The baby was born the day before in Los Angeles, and Ryder also stated that all three are doing well.

Dane and Gayheart were both still appearing in public as recently as last month. They attended premieres for his new hit romantic comedy ‘Valentine’s Day.’ The couple also appeared on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ telling her that they weren’t going to name their daughter until they met her.

The website Hollyscoop also reported that Dane was by his wife’s side, dressed in scrubs, much like his character Dr. Mark Sloan on his hit ABC series ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ during the delivery. This is the first child for the 37-year-old McSteamy and his 38-year-old wife, who married in 2004. The couple reportedly had tried having a child before, but to no avail.

Gayheart has had a somewhat successful acting career, appearing in such movies as 1997′s ‘Scream 2,’ 1998′s ‘Urban Legend’ and 1999′s ‘Jawbreaker,’ as well as guest-starring on such shows as ‘Beverly Hills, 90210,’ ‘Nip/Tuck,’ ‘Medium’ and ‘CSI: Miami.’

But her career was tarnished after she struck and fatally injured a nine-year-old boy with her car in 2001. Gayheart pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter. She was sentenced to three years’ probation, a one-year suspension of her license, a $2,800 fine, and 750 hours of community service, and was ordered to make a public-service announcement about stopping your car when the cars in front of you are stopped.

Also, last summer, when Gayheart was about two months pregnant, a sex video that featured her, Dane and former Miss U.S. Teen Kari Ann Peniche in her L.A. apartment surfaced on the internet. The tape received attention because the three were naked and appeared to be high.
