In an effort to further profit off of its current hit show ‘Ghost Hunters,’ the Syfy network has green-lit ‘Paranormal Investigators,’ USA TODAY announced on March 17. The reality show is set to debut on Thursday, July 15 at 10PM ET/PT, and will follow six self-proclaimed specialists who hope to witness supernatural and paranormal activity and catch it on camera.

Set to participate in the show are Larry Caughlan, Jael de Pardo, Chi-Lan Lieu, Bill Murphy and Austin Porter. ‘Paranormal Investigators’ will feature former FBI Special Agent Ben Hansen as the team leader. The team will choose a different site to investigate for each episode after analyzing images and videos from eyewitnesses.

The team will then go to the location and try to determine if it’s truly haunted by recreating images and conducting scientific experiments. The season will start off with six episodes, and will begin filming in the spring.

Mark Stern, a programming executive for Syfy, said that the show is a “…strong and natural fit for our growing Syfy reality slate.” He added that it will be a good match for the ‘Ghost Hunters’ franchise.
