Jon Bernthal (“The Ghost Writer”) as been announced as the actor cast in AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” an adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s post-apocalyptic zombie graphic novel.
The series and book series are about a band of survivors in a world after an epidemic of zombie attacks and infections, greating panic and chaos. The group are led by former police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of somewhere safe. Bernthal is slated to play Grimes’ partner and friend Shane.
Frank Darabont wrote the adaptation of the Image Comics title, and will also direct the TV pilot. Darabont is also an executive producer for the project, alongside Gale Anne Hurd of Valhalla Motion Pictures and David Alpert of Circle of Confusion.
