Screenwriter Jeff Stockwell has been tapped to write a film adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s classic time-travel novel “A Wrinkle in Time.” The script is for for Cary Granat and his newly-formed Bedrock Studios. The 1962 Newbery Medal-winning sci-fi novel is about teenaged Meg Murry, her genius brother Charles Wallace, and their fellow classmate Calvin O’Keefe. The three set out to rescue Meg’s missing father, a scientist who has been mysteriously abducted. Along they way they gain allies and counsel from the mysterious trio of Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which. The book has been adapted for film before by the BBC in 2003, as well as a TV movie…

The money-strapped MGM studio has received numerous offers to be bought out, but none were anywhere near the $2 billion mark the company was looking for, the Hollywood Reporter announced on March 22.  In light of not receiving a valuable offer, the studio’s more than 100 debt holders will most likely instead decide to file for bankruptcy and reorganize the company.  However, for this to occur, two-thirds of the debt holders would have to agree to the reorganization. Other studios bid on MGM, including Lionsgate.  While it wasn’t immediately confirmed, it’s suspected that Time Warner also placed an offer.  MGM said it will review the bids it has received over…

Since Lindemulder lost a custody battle in December of last year, Sunny has been living with James and reportedly-estranged wife Sandra Bullock. Rumors swirled on March 19 that theater production company Music Theater International (MTI) was adapting the hit FOX musical series ‘Glee’ into a Broadway play, but the network is now slamming the company. Popeater.com reported on March 22 that FOX is denying MTI’s claims. In response to the reports, FOX TV spokesman Chris Alexander released a statement, saying the network is very careful when it comes to deliberating with other companies about its franchises and series. “We..are mystified why (Music Theater Intl.) would claim there have been any such discussions about a live theatrical version of ‘Glee,’” the statement also said.
