Star Jones underwent a pre-planned cardiac surgery in New York City on March 17, PEOPLE.com reported on March 20. The former ‘View’ co-host, who hasn’t been in the press very much since she departed the Emmy-winning daytime talk show, is on the road to recovery. The surgery was scheduled as a follow-up procedure. Jones previously underwent another procedure for a thoracic tumor she developed nearly 30 years ago. Her representative told the magazine that the surgery was successful, and will have an extra reason to celebrate as she nears her 48th birthday March 24.
