Jon Tenney (TNT’s “The Closer”) has joined the cast of Martin Campbells’ big-screen adaptation of the DC Comics character “Green Lantern”, starring Ryan Reynolds.
Tenney will play Hal Jordan’s dad, test pilot Martin H. Jordan. He joins Reynolds, Mark Strong, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Temuera Morrison, and Angela Bassett in the film about a daredevil test pilot who is chosen to become a member of the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic police force. Chosen for being utterly without fear, the Green Lanterns wield power rings, weapons that are powered through sheer force of will to create almost anything the bearer needs or can imagine out of green energy.
Green Lantern is slated to hit theaters on June 17th, 2011.
