After a massive marketing effort, the superhero flick only took in $19.7 million leaving it way short of Lionsgate’s rumored $30 million goal. Hopefully the film will have some legs and win as big as hoped as time goes on, but for now, Matthew Vaughn and crew will have to settle for second best. Walter Salles is getting a jump start on the competition and tapping Tron‘s pretty boy resource for his upcoming film On The Road. As tweeted by Production Weekly, Garrett Hedlund is in talks to star in the adaption of Jack Kerouac’s book, which will begin shooting this summer. The actress’ publicist confirmed to Usmagazine.com on April 16 that her musician boyfriend, Martyn LeNoble, proposed on Valentine’s Day. The couple has been dating for two years, Applegate’s rep also said. However, no date has been set yet. This will be the second marriage for both Applegate and LeNoble. Actor Danny Glover was among a group of 12 protesters who were arrested at the Sodexo headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland, the Huffington Post reported on April 16. The group stepped across yellow police tape during a labor union protest, and they refused to step back when Montgomery County police officers asked them to retreat three times. The ‘Lethal Weapon’ star and the other protesters were given citations for trespassing at the food service company and let go.
