After public fallouts following the revelations of infidelity of other celebrities, including Tiger Woods, Jesse James and Tiki Barber, David Boreanaz is the latest one to admit to having cheated on his wife. PEOPLE reported on May 3 that the ‘Bones’ star that he was unfaithful to his wife, Jaime Bergman.

Boreanaz admitted to the affair because the woman contacted his lawyer and demanded money to stay quiet. Rather than give into her demands, he decided to come clean, TMZ reported. He added that he already paid her thousands of dollars. “I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with. She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion,” Boreanaz said.

So far, there have been conflicting reports on who the mistress is. RadarOnline is saying that the mistress is Rachel Uchitel, Woods’ first alleged mistress. Star Magazine is even saying that Uchitel hooked up with Boreanaz while Bergman was pregnant with the couple’s second child, 8-month old Bardot. TMZ, however, is saying that Uchitel isn’t Boreanaz’s mistress.

The former ‘Angel’ star said he was irresponsible, but he and Bergman are working on their marriage. “We’re working on repairing what has been damaged so badly,” he added. The two met on Valentine’s Day in 2001, and married in a small ceremony the following November. They planned to marry in a bigger ceremony in September, but postponed the nuptials due to the September 11 attacks.
