Ouch, a radioactive meteorite can really do some damage; see for yourself. Sky Showbiz posted an image of Peter Sarsgaard all done up, from the neck up at least, as Hector Hammond, one of two villains in Green Lantern. Hammond was just your typical criminal until he comes in contact with a meteor that emits a radiation causing his brain to grow enormously.

Clearly Sarsgaard is heading to a scene post-exposure. In fact, it looks like he’s taken a beating as well. Even without appropriate lighting, proper focus, the complete costume and additional CGI, Hammond is looking pretty damn good; Sarsgaard is unrecognizable.

Green Lantern isn’t set to hit theaters until June 11th, 2011, but as long as images like these keep coming, holding out shouldn’t be a problem. Hopefully images of Kilowog and Tomar-Re will be next. Creating a believable Hammond is certainly a challenge, but it should be really interesting to see the balance between live-action and CGI for these non-human characters.
