Korn singer Jonathan Davis has decided to boycott oil company BP in response to the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, the Associated Press (AP) reported on June 18. In a statement he released, Davis said numerous artists, including Creed, Lady Gaga and the Backstreet Boys, are already backing him up in the boycott.
Davis also urged all singers who are touring this summer not to use fuel sold by BP or its affiliates on their tour buses this year. His statement comes in wake of the tens of millions of gallons of oil that have poured into the Gulf Coast since an oil rig explosion was set off in the coast of Louisiana in April.
Other celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Cameron Diaz, Lenny Kravitz and Ryan Seacreast, pledged to show their support to businesses and communitites hurt by the spill by appearing on CNN’s two-hour telethon, ‘Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help,’ airing tonight. CNN personality Larry King will host the event.
