Chris Klein has checked into rehab after being arrested on the 101 Freeway in L.A., TMZ reported on June 21. TMZ was the first to report that the ‘American Pie’ actor was pulled over on June 16. He was seen weaving between lanes, and had a blood alcohol level of more than .20, nearly three times the legal limit, and was subsequently arrested.

While Klein, who was previously charged with a DUI in 2005, has yet to be charged in this case, his rep confirmed that he checked into rehab. “After recent years, (Chris) was forced to take a clear look at a problem he has been trying to deal with for years.”

The rep also added that Klein knows he needs treatment to beat alcoholism. “He thanks everyone for their support as he takes all the necessary steps to deal with his addiction and asks for privacy while doing so,” the rep added.
