Disney sent us the latest clip “Apprentice Wanted” from the upcoming film “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” by director Jon Turteltaub and starring Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider 2, Kick-Ass), Jay Baruchel (Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian), Alfred Molina (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) and Monica Bellucci. Synopsis: The film revolves around a sorcerer who recruits and trains a young protege to help him fight the forces of evil in modern-day New York City, and is a loose adaptation of the famous mini from Disney’s “Fantasia” from 1940. Korn singer Jonathan Davis has decided to boycott oil company BP in response to the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, the Associated Press (AP) reported on June 18. In a statement he released, Davis said numerous artists, including Creed, Lady Gaga and the Backstreet Boys, are already backing him up in the boycott. The star of the Disney Channel show ‘Phil of the Future’ made the claims in legal documents she filed on March 1 in L.A. County Superior Court in support of a restraining order. The lyrics for the Beatles song ‘A Day in the Life,’ the final song on the album ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,’ were purchased by an American collector on June 18 for $1.2 million, the Associated Press (AP) is reporting. They sold for so much because the lyrics were handwritten by John Lennon. The bid was placed at Sotheby’s auction house via phone, and exceeded the pre-sale expectation of $500,000 to $800,000.
