Mel Gibson was involved in another car incident in California, TMZ is reporting. The actor-director crashed his 2008 Maserati into a rocky hillside on Malibu Canyon Road in Malibu on August 15. Officers from the West Valley CHP Area responded to the scene and had to tow the Maserati, but Gibson himself was unharmed.
According to the CHP incident report, Gibson steered the car tot he right after losing control. After the officers arrived, he gave them his information and a statement, and was then driven home by a friend.
 CHP Public Information Officer Leland TAng told TMZ that Gibson was allowed to leave the scene because he said he didn’t know how the car drifted from his lane and into the hillside. He denied talking on his cell phone, and according to the police report, “DUI is not suspected in the accident.” Gibson didn’t receive a citation, and no charges are being filed against him.
