Nick Loeb, who is dating ‘Modern Family’ actress Sofia Vergara, was admitted tot he intensive care unit at a Bel Air hospital on August 23 after he was involved in a car accident, TMZ is reporting. Paramedics rushed tot he scene of the crash near Beverly Glen around 4:30 pm. Loeb, who was involved in Florida politics before he moved to L.A. and began pursing a career in television production, had “a severely broken leg and a deep gash across the chest” when he was admitted to the hospital.

The accident comes as the couple, who began dating last year, was preparing for the Primetime Emmy Awards, scheduled to air on August 29. The 38-year-old actress is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category.
