Sofia Vergara ma become the first lady of Florida, as her boyfriend, Nick Loeb, is expressing interest in running for governor, the New York Post reported on August 31. However, the ‘Modern Family’ actress and Emmy nominee won’t put her television career on hold if he does win, like Arnold Arnold Schwarzenegegger’s wife, Maria Shriver, did with her journalism career.

Loeb has previously run unsuccessfully for the Florida senate and the Delray Beach city commission. Page 2 Live, the Palm Beach Post’s gossip site, doubts Loeb would win the governor race either, as they said he’s a “trust-funder who lost or quit every political race he entered.” He also left Florida politics to start a career in television production in L.A.

The news comes after Loeb was in a car accident on August 23 in Bel Air. He was unable to attend the Emmys with Vergara because he fractured his pelvis and gashed his chest, and was sent to an intensive care unit.
