Out of jail for only a couple of months, T.I., along with his new wife Tamkea Cottle, were arrested in Los Angeles on September 2 for alleged possession of a controlled substance, TMZ is reporting. The couple, who secretly married in Miami last month, was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard at 10:30 pm by LA Couonty sheriff’s deputies, as the police said they smelled marijuana coming from the car. T.I. and Cottle were arrested after the deputies searched the car.
The arrest comes after the 29-year-old rapper served seven months out of a one year sentence for federal weapons charges, stemming from a 2006 incident in Cleveland. He is still on probation for those charges. The couple’s bail was set at $10,000.
T.I. returned to music when he performed live at the 2010 BET awards. he also had a major role in the new action ensemble movie ‘Takers,’ which he also produced, and for which he filmed most of his scenes before he went to prison.
