Actor Jeffrey Jones, who is most remembered for playing Principal Rooney in the hit 1986 movie ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,’ has pleaded guilty to failing to update his sex offender registration, TMZ reported on September 28. As a result, Jones has been sentenced to three years formal probation, and has been ordered to serve 250 hours of community service.
The charges stemmed from Jones’ 2003 sex offender case, in which a 14-year-old boy came forward, saying he made him pose nude for pictures in his Hollywood Hills home. Jones pleaded no contest to a felony charge was ordered to register as a sex offender. The pictures dated back to 2000.
Jones had a somewhat successful career before the arrest, appearing in such movies as ‘Amadeus’ and ‘The Devil’s Advocate.’ he also collaborated with Tim Burton in several movies, including ‘Beetlejuice,’ ‘Ed Wood’ and ‘Sleepy Hollow.’
