Katy Perry and Russell Brand married on October 23 at the luxury northwestern Indian resort Aman-e-Khas, the Huffington Post is reporting. While the two tried to keep details of the ceremony private since they got engaged in December, it was also reported that they had a traditional Hindu ceremony.
The wedding, which was conducted by a Hindu priest, was part of a six-day celebration, including a Bollywood-themed party the night before. The 25-year-old singer and the 35-year-old actor-comedian both wore traditional Indian attire at the ceremony. The Press Trust of India is also reporting that there were 21 camels, horses and elephants at the wedding, accompanied by traditional Indian musicians and dancers.
Security at the resort was tightened, and there were district officials stationed on the grounds to monitor the noise levels. That occurred after Brand’s bodyguard and a wedding guest were accused of assaulting news photographers.
