Brad Pitt is ready to sign on to director Andrew Dominik’s new movie, ‘Cogan’s Trade’. The film, which is described as a Boston-based crime story, will not only reunite Pitt with his ‘Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford’ director, but with co-star Cases Affleck as well.

Dominik is also expected to write the script. Pitt is expected to star as Jackie Cogan, an officer who “investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game under protection of the mob,” Slashfilm is also reporting. The movie will be based on the book by George Higgins, which Dominik is believed to have recently optioned the rights to.

Other actors believed to take part in ‘Cogan’s Trade’ are Javier Bardem, Sam Rockwell and Mark Ruffalo. Dominik is expected to start filming the movie early next year, before he starts on his Marilyn Monroe biopic ‘Blonde,’ starring Naomi Watts.
